SV Monthly Hike
This month we are staying local. We will take Morning Sun to SCA Trails. This is a moderate hike.
Meeting Place: Morning Sun Trailhead on West side, Spencer/Monte Mar exit of Highway 101.
Parking: In Park and Ride lot near trailhead, but better on frontage road on East side of freeway. Park and walk under overpass to the trailhead.
Route: A climb up Morning Sun Trail, about 1/3 of a mile, with several switchbacks.
Then walk about a mile on the SCA trail to an overlook above the Robin Williams Tunnel
with dramatic views of SF Bay and the City and even towards the Pacific Ocean.
Return on the same trail with the option to go a bit further for lunch/snack on the Bobcat trail.
Distance: About 3 miles.
Advice: Bring hiking poles. And always a sunhat, sunscreen, water, snack/lunch
