SV Hiking Group - Marincello Trail to Miwok Trail to Old Springs Trail

SV Monthly Hike

 

Every first Wednesday of the month SV will host a hike that ranges 3-5 miles over different terrains, generally moderate hikes with moderate elevation gains.  The exact hike will be posted several weeks before the date.

 

Marincello Trail to Miwok Trail to Old Springs Trail Moderate Hike

Meet at the Tennessee Valley parking lot @ 10 or meet at Dumphy Park at 9:30 to carpool.

Hike 1.5 miles uphill on the Marincello Trail to the Miwok Trail.  The trail is wide and there are lovely views at the top.  The Miwok Trail has a slight elevation gain then transitions to a steep downhill for 0.9 miles.  We arrive at the beautiful Old Springs Trail with lovely views of Tennessee Valley.  Hike 1.3 miles back to Tennessee Valley parking lot.

Total miles 3.7 with an elevation gain of 837'.  Sturdy hiking shoes/boots and hiking poles are highly recommended, especially for the downhill.

Bring water, snack, sunscreen and hat and now that we are in rainy season, it would be good to pack a lightweight rain jacket just in case!
