Kirby Cove hike is a popular three mile round-trip trail in the Marin Headlands. It descends roughly 600 feet down a steep, unpaved fire road through eucalyptus and pine trees to a quiet beach with rare, postcard-worthy views of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Location for trail start: Battery Spencer parking area on Conzelman Road
What to Expect
The Walk Down: The first half is an easy, steady walk downhill toward the ocean.
The Beach & Views: Stunning look at San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge from the beach.
The Climb Back: The trip back is entirely uphill. We will take our time on the steep but gradual return climb.
Facilities: Pit toilets and picnic tables are near the beach, but there is no drinking water.
