SV Monthly Hike

 

Every first Wednesday of the month SV will host a hike that ranges 3-5 miles over different terrains, generally moderate hikes with moderate elevation gains.  The exact hike will be posted several weeks before the date.

JUNE HIKE:  Lower Redwood Creek Hike

Directions:  Highway 1 north, drive past Muir Beach, take right onto Frank Valley Road.  Park at the first pullout on the north side of the road.   The trailhead is on the opposite side of the road.

Terrain:  riparian habitat with woods and grassland.  The trail is mostly level with minor elevations. This will be an in and out on the same trail.  It is 1.8 miles to the junction with the Miwok Trail for a total of 3.6 miles.  

There are no restroom facilities at the trailhead.  There are restrooms located in the parking lot of Muir Beach.

Essentials:  water, snack, sunscreen

 

We will always offer carpooling with a SV Volunteer driver leaving from Dunphy Park at approximately 9:30 (will vary depending on the distance to the starting point) for SV members/volunteers.  Non-members/volunteers are welcome but will be responsible for their own transportation.
