"Our challenge is to make old age not only acceptable but inviting. ...We can craft an old age that will be intellectually stimulating, socially rewarding, productive and fun. The greatest gift we could give to future generations is to say, 'Here's a way to be old that you'll want to be.' " Laura Carstensen, PhD, A Long Bright Future
Sausalito Village is a non-profit organization founded by a small group of volunteers who wanted to build a community of friendship and support among Sausalito's older residents. We are dedicated to enhancing the ability of our members to live independently and active in our community as we age.
We offer a wide variety of supportive services and volunteer opportunities, as well as educational, cultural, fitness, and social activities, all of which help our members to live safe, active, and connected lives.
The basic concept of Sausalito Village is neighbors helping neighbors, we encourage all of our members to consider ways that they can be of service to other members or the organization as a whole. It may be as simple as a phone call to welcome a new member, a ride to a medical appointment or help setting up an event.
For details on how to become a member or a volunteer, or if you would simply like to learn more about us, give us a call at 415-332-3325 or contact us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. You are also welcome to attend one or more of our meetings or events, most of which are open to the public. For a complete calendar of events, click on the Event Calendar to the right.

The idea is simple - enjoy a meal while sitting in community with old friends or new. We have volunteer servers who will get you seated and bring the soup, bread, dessert and hot drinks to your table.
We invite you to join us the first Monday of every month unless it falls on a holiday like New Years and Labor Day, then it moves to the next Monday. The time is 11:30am - 1:00pm.
Reservations are required. Check the monthly calendar to reserve your spot
Each month Sausalito Village invites a different business in town to create a hearty soup for attendees, usually there is a vegetarian and a non-vegetarian option.
We also have live light music in the background lending a warm and inviting atmosphere to our monthly event.
Special thanks to Fr. Chip Larrimore and all of Christ Church for the use of Campbell Hall.
Limited parking is available. If you would like a FREE ride from Dunphy Park or your home, call Wendy at CARSS (Call A Ride for Sausalito Seniors) at 415-944-5474 or email SausalitoVillageConcierge@gmail.com by the Friday before.
Sausalito Village Weekly Newsletter
During the pandemic, our Newsletter Editor began a daily email called 'Tips of the Day' which was chock full of ideas to keep people busy as they sheltered in place. Now that we have opened up and are getting outdoors and socializing more, we have reduced the Tips to a weekly version that you will receive in your email box on Friday mornings. It is called Sausalito Village Weekly Newsletter and is still full of fun. If you are longing for past editions of the Tips of the Day, they can be found under the Newsletter tab on this website or by clicking the Link below.
